Explore the Ibera Wetlands, which boast a wide variety of wildlife, including alligators, otters and capybaras; then spend a couple days visiting the Iguazu Falls from both the Argentine and Brazilian side for a full experience of these impressive waterfalls during this Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls tour!

 

Day 1: Buenos Aires

 

Welcome to Argentina!

 

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met at the airport and have a transfer in private to your hotel.

 

On your first day in the city you will be contacted by one of our Destination Hosts, who will check with you details of your itinerary, provide you with the printed documentation, and add any information you might need. She/ he will be your local contact while you are traveling with us and  will be ready to answer your questions, give you tips about places to go, restaurants to eat and anything else you might be interested in. Not just about Buenos Aires, also about the different places you will visit during your whole itinerary.

 

You will have the rest of the day to enjoy this vibrant city, leaving you the remainder of the day to explore the historic neighborhoods and enjoy the cafe culture of Buenos Aires.

Day 2: Buenos Aires City Tour & Tango Show

 

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel to enjoy our City Tour.

 

Over the course of a half day you will have the chance to visit the historical and political centre of the city; San Telmo with its cobblestone streets, La Boca where Buenos Aires turns colorful and tango is ever present, and the chic and aristocratic Recoleta, where the big palaces remind us that Buenos Aires was once the Paris of the South. (Duration: 3- 4 hours)

 

In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel (shared service) to be driven to one of Buenos Aires’ most emblematic cultural highlight’s; a Dinner and Tango Show offering a spectacular demonstration of the finest local dancing accompanied by delicious Argentine cuisine and all the malbec you’d like.

 

At the end of the evening you will be driven back to your hotel. (Duration dinner + show: 4 hours approx.) (B/D + drinks)

 

Day 3: Buenos Aires / Posadas / Ibera

 

At the appropriate time you will be taken to the domestic airport (private service) for your flight to Posadas.

 

Upon arrival in Posadas you will be taken (private service) to Irupe Lodge, which is located in the northwest area of the natural reserve Iberá in the province of Corrientes, 120 km away. This journey takes approximately 2 and half hours.

 

The Esteros are the second-largest wetlands in the world after the Patanal in Brazil. Iberá is also one of the most important fresh water reservoirs in the continent.

 

Once at the lodge you will have the afternoon to explore the beautiful secluded countryside on foot or via horseback. (B/D)

 

Day 4: Ibera Wetlands

 

After a homemade breakfast you will choose to take part in one of several activities included during your stay at the Irupe Lodge. Some of the options are: exclusive guided walks on the Luna and Galarza Lagoons in the Isirí and Jacare Streams, hiking in the forest and pastures, horse rides along the Ibera Marshes, boat trip to see alligators and capybaras, flora and fauna sightseeing, bird watching or, safari photography.

 

The duration of the activity will depend on your choice of what Ibera Wetlands tours you’d like to do. (B/L/D)

 

Day 5: Ibera / Puerto Iguazu

 

In the morning you will be picked up (private transfer) and driven to Puerto Iguazu.

 

This little relaxing town is the gateway to visit the impressive Iguazu Falls, which have been recently declared as one of the New Seven Natural Wonders, making them a must see destination for any traveler visiting Argentina

 

 You will be taken to your hotel at which point you will have the afternoon to relax and enjoy the tropical climate and jungle setting. (B)

 

Day 6: Iguazu National Park: Argentine Side

 

This day you are visiting a National Reserve. Please remember that National Park Fees are not included. Check at the end of your itinerary the corresponding fee, to be paid locally in national currency.

 

After breakfast you will depart on a full day tour (shared service) to the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls where you will have intimate views of this unforgettable section of the Iguazu River. A guide will show you the hidden gems of this unique National Park and will take you off the beaten path to show you the best views.

 

Lower and upper walkways permit up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature. Trails through the 210 square mile reserve provide visitors with various views of the Falls, especially the largest one, Devil’s Throat. The ecological train ride is included in the tour. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

 

Note that in the park there are different excursions you can take for an additional cost. On the “Gran Aventura” you can sail the river and get closer the falls (Please be aware- on the boat trip there is a 100% chance that you will get wet…the Falls provide a refreshing “natural shower”. Be sure to take some extra clothes if you want to do this excursion.) (B)

Day 7: Iguazu National Park: Brazilian Side / Buenos Aires

 

This day you are visiting a National Reserve. Please remember that National Park Fees are not included. Check at the end of your itinerary the corresponding fee, to be paid locally in national currency. 

 

After breakfast, half day excursion (shared service) to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls where you will enjoy vast panoramic views of the Falls allowing you to view them in their entirety.

 

Please note: Brazil requires that most tourists have a visa to visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. Please check with the Brazilian Consulate to ensure that you have the appropriate visa before traveling or you will not be allowed to enter Brazil. For  example- US citizens, Canadians & Australians (as well as other nationalities) need a visa to visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls.
